Town Hall Hire

The Town Hall with its magnificent surroundings is available for hire. It has large and small kitchens, a bar, large and small halls all with good disabled access and facilities. The Town Hall has a car park next door (pay and display 9am to 6pm other times free). Glastonbury Town Hall is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies and offers a choice of four rooms, the Main Hall, the Small Hall, the Council Chamber and the Mayor’s Parlour. With catering facilities on hand and a bar buffet area, the Town Hall offers the convenience of holding both ceremony and reception under one roof. Our staff are committed to creating a warm, friendly atmosphere for your special day. See below for more information.

We are happy to provide contact details of local catering and bar service suppliers, and professional musicians and live bands. The premises are available for music and dancing until 1.00am (12 midnight on Saturdays). A basic sound system and lighting are available but if you need specialist equipment there are hire firms based locally.

Prices quoted below are applicable from 1st April 2017. All prices are subject to VAT at 20% but shown excluding VAT

SESSIONS   9 am to  1 pm,  2 pm  to 6 pm and 7 pm  to 11 pm

Variations to session times may be negotiated with the Town Hall Manager and may involve additional hire charges. Extra hours will involve an additional charge.

Main Hall

The Main Hall is ideal for a dinner & dance and is an ideal venue for hosting your wedding reception or party. There is a stage for a live band and an immaculately polished sprung floor.

With its stage and sound system, it is also a suitable venue for a Concert or a Show. There is a back stage room for changing plus there are Bar and kitchen facilities available for refreshments. There is a stage on which tables and chairs can be placed for speakers. We can also provide microphones. There is access for wheelchairs and loop system for the hard of hearing.

Recommended capacity for various uses
1. The maximum capacity is 300 if all standing.
2. With perimeter tables and seats, plan for 230 maximum.
3. If seating is required for Conferences, Meetings, Films etc plan for 230 maximum.
4. If seating is required with reserved space for a dance area and buffet space (such as for Wedding Receptions and parties) we recommend you plan for 140 maximum (120 with round tables).

Small Hall

Where seating is required in a conference style e.g. for meeting or civil weddings or partnerships, we recommend you plan for 50 maximum. The Small Hall is also suitable for exhibitions and smaller wedding party catering for up to 35 seated guests.

Council Chamber

The Council Chamber is suitable for meetings and smaller wedding ceremonies.The recommended maximum seating capacity is 55.
